Telstra considering major axing of jobs is ‘no surprise’

Former Labor senator Stephen Conroy says economic growth is “really slowing” faster than the RBA wants to acknowledge.

Telstra is considering slashing 2,800 jobs from its direct workforce.

“So it’s no surprise, unfortunately, to see major corporations having to make decisions like this,” Mr Conroy said.
