Synopsis:
A WWII story of Jason Carter (Edward Tarling) an American soldier who attempts to rescue his soul in a desperate search for the one hope of restoring peace within himself. Jason alongside soldier Ben (Damon Driver) and Rick (Rob McLoughlin) patrol the last potential Nazi hideouts at the end of the Second World War. The story takes place in August 1944, in the French Alps where the Officer Robert Ferrier (Daniel Quilez) is in charge of supervising the U.S. and local resistance. Only one day, Jason surprisingly finds the most unexpected person he could expect. Her name is Rosie, she’s an 8 year old German girl who’s been left behind. What will he do? His orders are clear…

True Heart is an immersive adventure through the French Alps of 1944 seen through the eyes of the main character Jason Carter. A period drama driven by the emotions a soldier would have felt during these times of hatred and violence, a soldier misunderstood not only by others but also by himself. True Heart develops some of the most refined and subtle emotions experienced during the War.

The project True Heart began in November 2015. Jonathan Kingston Gameiro and Renan Robillard agreed to share their passion and experience of filmmaking to collaborate and make their very first film. Castings took place in the UK (London), France (Annecy), and Switzerland (Geneva). The crew was composed of British and French technicians mainly from London and Paris. As both Jonathan and Renan grew up in the French Alps their search for locations was concentrated in the area, the idea of only having genuine sets made the project even more challenging and exciting.
A few months later, the cast, the crew, the locations, the props and the equipment was secured and all thanks to the help of family, friends and colleagues without whom the project would never have been possible in the first place. The 17th of August 2016 everyone was gathered in France, time to shoot, the shoot took place for 8 consecutive days.
The energy and devotion shared towards the film from the people involved was incredible. “True Heart” was originally a non permanent production name. After the production ended, the producers decided to keep the title “True Heart” as they considered it was a suitable title, and also reflected the atmosphere and energy shared on set by the cast and crew.
