'As Biden-Xi meet, a deal on banning the use of AI in nuclear weapons could have been a big step'

In the winter of 1983, light bouncing off clouds fooled Soviet satellites into thinking the United States had launched a nuclear attack. Armageddon was averted because of the quick thinking of a single officer. As AI comes to play an ever-bigger role in militaries, many experts are calling on Biden and Xi to bar the use of such technologies when it comes to the use of the ultimate weapon.
