Cicada Killer Wasp

Was curious as to what this giant cicada was doing in our driveway until I met the culprit! Meet the Cicada Killer Wasp- she creates burrow to lay her eggs in, captures cicadas, and lays eggs on their legs! The eggs hatch, and the babies feed on the Cicada until they are big enough to form a cocoon that hatches into a cicada killer wasp the following Spring. The Cicada Killer is fairly harmless to humans, and they keep the Cicada population down to help the trees from being destroyed. Are you team Cicada, or team Cicada killer?
