Surreal Collage Art Class with Sarah Gillham

In this collage workshop you will use found imagery to create a new surrealist image. Exploring how the meaning of an image can be transformed through the process of cutting, layering, covering and the juxtaposing of images.

You will need:
Materials: Scissors or craft knife (cutting mat or piece of hard cardboard if you are using a craft knife) spray mount ( a mask if you are using spray mount) or prick stick, a ruler and a pencil, old newspaper and a pair of disposable gloves


Things to work from:
Old magazines, books, postcard, maps, photos…. anything paper based with an image on that you don’t mind cutting up.
