Story time with a Sheriff - "Oh, the Places You'll Go"
“You will come to a place where the streets are not marked. Some windows are lighted. but mostly they're darker.
A place you could sprain both your elbow and chin! Do you dare to stay out? Do you dare to go in?
How much can you lose? How much can you win?” – Dr. Seuss
Class of 2020 today’s “Storytime with a Sheriff” is just for you! Whether you are graduating from college, high school, or preschool, we know this year is especially challenging for you. But we also know that you are strong and resilient, and you are ready to move mountains.
Please join Deputy Serfling as she reads the Dr. Seuss classic “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!”. Deputy Serfling has been a patrol deputy with our department since 2016 and currently serves on graveyard shift assigned to the University Place Police Department. She is our first reader to represent our deputies in University Place and we think she made a perfect choice for today’s story.
Deputy Serfling is also a Field Training Officer and works to prepare our newest deputies as they get ready to head out on patrol after leaving basic training at the academy. Her leadership is vital to our department as she mentors our future leaders, and readies them to go into the dark places and to move mountains. We are proud of her efforts to better our department and our community!
As you read along with us, please feel free to give a shout out in the comments if you have a 2020 graduate – big or small – that you are proud of. And remember “Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting, so get on your way!”
