Metal detecting the old abandoned farm now forest in NH old coin
Metal detecting old farmland now forest in New Hampshire.
I had to go for a good hike through the woods just to get to the old stone wall at the back of this place. Soon as I got there I turned on my Garrett ATGOLD metal detector and started swinging. This old colonial farm was in use all the way through the 1800s and abandoned some time at the end of that century. I spent a lot of time away from the cellar hole and concentrated on what would have been field until I heard some good signals. I managed to dig up and find a nice old dandy button from the 1700's . being that this homesite was built by a veteran of the American revolution its a good bet it was his. That is some great American history. Towards the end of the digging day I was up against the old rock wall and got a great signal. Digging it up o had found a large old copper coin. Unfortunately it is in rough shape but jousting the numbers my detector was giving me its a good bet it is an early US copper coin.
