In this video I’ll should you this Cnematic Emotional short film shot entirely with the Sony A7C in S-Log2.
I am also going to show you the settings of my S’Log2 and the lenses that I use for the shoot of this cinema ting Short shot with the Sony A7C.

Dialing the Settings for S-Log in my Sony A7C was crucial for achieving an easy color grading in Premiere.
You will watch the final product and then, I’ll break down the video and though process going through composition, parameters and color grading in Lightroom

The entire shoot with the Sony a7c was done hand held with the following lenses: Sony Zeiss 24-70mm f4 OSS, Sony 85mm f1.8, Sony 90mm f2.8 macro.

The Sony A7C has superior color capture in my opinion than the Sony A7iii especially in Slog-2.

The Settings of this video we tweaked an I have listed these Slog 2 setting in this video.

Shooting with the Sony A7C in Slow motion at 120 FPS has been a breeze. All the footage that you see here from the Sony A7C has been upscaled from FHD to 4K and as you can see very little detail has been lost.

The Sony A7C is a very powerful compact camera. where even though it only caps at 4k 30p 8bit still offer a wide range of capabilities.
Everyone is asking about cinematic settings for the Sony A7C and in reality the quality right out the camera even using the standard profile produces very “cinematic images”

When comparing the Sony A7C Slog capabilities with the Sony A7iii I feel like the Sony a7iii offers slightly better colors and also easier time grading Slow footage.

Now let’s talk about how I planned this video: Well, I didn’t , my plans were for a sunny day on the beach and it ended up happening that we got rain for a week straight so It was time to improvise and shoot under the rain.

I was a little scared about the low light capabilities of the Sony A7C but it held up pretty good under the rain.
The Sony A7C is pretty well sealed.

Another thing that I love about this camera is the flip out screen, this helped me to get those low shots with ease. I just with the screen was fully touch screen.
The ergonomics of the Sony A7c are great for what the camera was designed for ‘Portability” but I wish the grip was a bit deeper.

Regarding buttons and layout I wish it had an additional dial and a couple of extra custom buttons but you can configure the existing buttons and I get costumed pretty quick.

Bottom line the Sony A7C produces great images in Slog 2 by tweaking the settings that I show in the video.
As Far as color grading the Sony A7C Slog 2 footage, I did not use any third party LUTs, but instead I created my own LUT to create an overall grading feel the all the cottages and then I applied individual adjustment layers in premiere to each individual grip to finalist the look of each clip.
