There’s a rare kind of magic in music that speaks truth with empathy. Anna Tivel has that magic.

Her songs feel like hushed conversations between strangers with the imagery of light flickering through a dusty old window. It’s powerful like a dream.

Years ago I was given the opportunity to film with Anna. We shot a couple of vids but never felt like I captured the magic. I felt like this is my shot at a redemption. Feels good in so many ways to bring a talented songwriter as Anna to the channel. I’m happy with this video. The song though, tops it.

None of it is really fair, born into the atmosphere
Breathing gold or stealing when you're hungry
Everyone you come upon, holds a picture in their mind
Ask them and they might just show you something

Magpie on the dying grass, looking for a diamond
Or some trash to build a temporary altar
Everything's a turning wheel, it comes around, you're born, you feel
You leave the truth you stole for someone after
