White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany tests positive for COVID-19

White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany has become the latest member of President Trump's inner circle to test positive for COVID-19.

Ms McEnany posted a statement to Twitter saying: "after testing negative consistently - including every day since Thursday - I tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday morning while experiencing no symptoms”.

No reporters, producers, or members of the press are listed as close contacts by the White House Medical Unit.

Ms McEnany has addressed the media several times since Thursday without wearing a mask but says she did not know about Hope Hicks' diagnosis prior to the White House briefings.

A growing number of White House staff and senior Republicans have tested positive since Donald Trump's diagnosis including advisor Hope Hicks, University of Notre Dame President John Jenkins and former counselor Kellyanne Conway.
