Michael Cacciotti South Pasadena City Council Response: "these small minded, myopic people"

City Councilmember Michael Cacciotti of South Pasadena defends his need for $1000 for a press conference to show how his work at the AQMD (air quality management) is 'getting calls from around the world' by referring to a South Pasadena resident as "these small minded, myopic people distorting the truth"

The resident gave a brief public comment, criticizing the expenditure, not the press conference. The city of South Pasadena is running multi-year, multi-million dollar spending deficit.

His new position Vice Chair of the AQMD made possible by his elected council seat on the South Pasadena City Council: https://www.aqmd.gov/home/research/pubs-docs-reports/newsletters/mar-apr-2023/new-chair-vc

Others in the community have noted:
"I thought Alan [the resident] triggered one of the most important moments of mask-removal I've ever seen in a local government, at 5:25:50 in the council video from Wednesday.

Alan asked if the city is using public money wisely by funding a $1,000 press conference about the police Teslas, and Michael Cacciotti replied that South Pasadena is being noticed "throughout the nation and the world," before adding, "We're getting calls from all over the world because of this program."

They're subordinated a functioning community to the desire to engage in narcissistic status performance. It's why we went five years without the slightest gesture at street maintenance: nobody calls from Paris because you laid down some slurry seal.
