Why You Should Always Bring Along Potatoes When Driving?

You can shield your mirrors with the plastic bags you purchased those potatoes in. It's likely that the potatoes and onions you purchased came in a tiny produce baggie. Cover the plastic bags on your side-view mirrors if you haven't already thrown them away. Theoretically, you could use a potato to keep the ice off the mirror, but cleaning would still be required. If using a plastic baggie, simply take it off the following morning and reuse it if the temperature falls below freezing. These plastic baggies can also be used to cover the door handles and keyholes on your car. Without a remote key, you might end up outside the car if water gets into the keyhole. You can also use duct tape if those bags aren’t available, though depending on the door handle’s material, that can damage the paint, so proceed with caution.

However, there are times when the cold weather surprises you and the temperature drops. Following are some quick ways to remove snow from your car. You should keep a spray bottle filled with water and rubbing alcohol (or vinegar) in the house or the car all winter long. As rubbing alcohol/vinegar doesn't freeze at 32 degrees Fahrenheit, a few sprays of the warmer solution will be enough to melt the snow off your car. In addition, regardless of whether you rubbed a potato on your windscreen, you should purchase a snow scraper tool. You must remove the snow from the top of the car if there is enough of it.

If you learn that the overnight lows will be below freezing, take your potato and cut it in half. Next, rub the interior of your car's windows and windscreen. To make sure you cover all of the car's glass surfaces, you might want to use both halves. Any ice will not form because the sugar from the potato will act as a sort of shield between the glass and the elements. You can be ready to go in the morning by wiping the windows with a microfiber cloth and using wiper fluid to remove the potato stains from your car's windscreen. You can also use an onion to get frost-free windscreens if you don't mind shedding a few tears. However, these common vegetables don't have many uses.

The mornings in winter are here, with temperatures below zero. And if you don't keep your car in a garage, there's a good chance that you'll wake up to ice on the windshields. Being buried in snow makes the interior of your car colder when you get inside and can be difficult to remove. But a regular potato can solve all of those problems. How to use a potato to keep the windshield of your car from getting iced over. A knife and a regular potato are all you need. A potato won't be able to remove the ice once it has formed, so you should check the weather the previous evening. Keep in mind that the goal of this is to avoid the formation of ice in the first place.
