Lieutenant Joshua Wong Bio:
Lieutenant Joshua Wong went to Stanford University for his undergraduate degree in Human Biology with a concentration in Public Health, Global Infectious Diseases, and Social Justice. He then attended Harvard Medical School where he continued to work in global health. He recently finished his residency in Internal Medicine and Global Health at Stanford University. Lieutenant Joshua Wong joined the U.S. Public Health Service and became a CDC disease detective in the Epidemic Intelligence Service (EIS) in July 2020. He is currently stationed in San Juan, Puerto Rico, with the Dengue Branch. His work so far has involved investigating household transmission rates, using hospital data to help doctors distinguish dengue infections from COVID-19, evaluating the performance of a COVID-19 rapid antigen test, and assisting with an evaluation of COVID-19 vaccine provider sites in Puerto Rico.
