Celebrating Charlotte Bishop Peter Jugis' 20th anniversary

Priests from the Diocese of Charlotte and beyond reflect on Bishop Peter J. Jugis' impact on the diocese and its people. The fourth bishop of the Diocese of Charlotte celebrated 20 years as a bishop and 40 years as a priest in 2023. The Charlotte native was ordained to the priesthood by Pope John Paul II on June 12, 1983, and he was ordained and installed as Bishop of Charlotte on Oct 24, 2003.
