NVIDIA is reportedly preparing to launch a "Super" refresh of its RTX 50 series GPUs, aiming to provide much-needed VRAM upgrades. This refreshed lineup is expected to include the RTX 5080 Super, RTX 5070 Ti Super, and the RTX 5070 Super. These new boards are anticipated to offer significant enhancements, primarily focusing on memory capacity over substantial core count increases.

Specifically, the leaked specifications for the RTX 5070 Super suggest it will utilize the same GB205 GPU as the non-Super RTX 5070, but with a slight increase in CUDA core count (around 4.2% more). To accommodate these changes and potentially higher clock speeds, its Thermal Design Power (TDP) is expected to rise to 275W from the RTX 5070's 250W. The most notable upgrade, and a key response to user feedback, is the rumored inclusion of 18GB of 28 Gbps GDDR7 memory, representing a 50% increase over the RTX 5070's 12GB, while maintaining a 192-bit bus width.

Regarding pricing and availability, leaks suggest the RTX 50 Super series, including the RTX 5070 Super, could launch in late 2025 or early 2026, potentially coinciding with AMD's next-generation GPU releases. The rumored price for the RTX 5070 Super is $599, which would be a $50 increase over the standard RTX 5070. Other Super variants are also projected to see price bumps, with the RTX 5060 Super at $349, RTX 5070 Ti Super at $849, and RTX 5080 Super at $1,149. However, it's crucial to treat these price leaks with caution, as GPU pricing can fluctuate significantly before official launch.

This "Super" refresh appears to be NVIDIA's strategy to address criticisms regarding VRAM capacity in their initial RTX 50 series lineup, offering more memory and slight performance bumps to remain competitive. The timing of these releases will be critical, as they enter a market where AMD is also expected to launch new challengers.
