Large Toy Box with Secret Busy Board - DIY Nursery Furniture

Matt's little boy Luca has so many toys! A toy box has been on the to-do list for us to make for a while. However, we wanted to add something different to the design, so we made the front panel reversible that will have a busy board on the back face. This will mean that everything can be tidied away an hidden when Luca's in bed. We also had Matt's wife (Luca's Mummy) paint a cute quote on the front of the reversible panel.

The toy box is made out of pine for the legs and 18mm birch plywood for all the panels. The size is roughly 1m x 0.5m x 0.5m. We used a 900mm piano hinge and 2 x 100N gas springs which adds a soft close feature.
