After leaving Villa o'Higgins, we boarded the Crux Australis ferry for a 43 hour crossing from Puerto Yungay to Puerto Natales. Once we arrived in Puerto Natales, we decided it was time to celebrate the half way point of our trip with a great dinner and too many beers.

The second part of our adventure took us to one of the landmarks of Patagonia and a must-see if you come into this part of the world - the Torres del Paine.

Unfortunately, I was left with mix feelings after spending a day in this national park. At 25000 Chilean Pesos (around 27 Euros or 30 Dollars), the entrance in the park was fairly expensive. For this money, you are not allowed to stop on the side of the road, you are not allowed to fly your drone and you can only stop for pictures in specially designated places. That, of course, means you end up with the same pictures you find on the internet. The road surface is appalling to ride on, with washboard that is so bad, you end up riding extremely slow.

Don't get me wrong, the Torres del Paine is a majestically beautiful natural monument, but the amount of money you are asked for at the entrance, plus all the idiotic rules, make it feel like a bit of a rip-off.
