We went to Shirakawago on January 1 of 2021 . It was snowing and really cold but the instagrammable view is so overwhelming and all you can think is to have an instant photoshoot.
The village is famous for its houses whose roof is made of straw and hay. Most of the houses are being used as shops. There is all kinds of shops, from souvenir to restaurants.Must also walk up to the viewing top /observatory area to see the whole village, the view is magnificent and breathaking with it's mountainous background covered in snow.

📌#Shirakawa-go is a World Heritage Site in Gifu Prefecture and known for its beautifully- preserved traditional Japanese landscape.
