"There is not a supply problem with respect to finding entrepreneurs of color and entrepreneurs that are women," says Carla Harris, vice chairman at Morgan Stanley.

That's why the investment-banking giant created its Multicultural Innovation Lab, which is entering its third year. The accelerator program backs diverse founders with capital, content and connections.

Harris is clear: There's money to be made by backing women and founders of color. "This is not about diversity and inclusion. This is not about philanthropy," she told LinkedIn Editor in Chief Daniel Roth.
