Roberto Alagna & Beatrice Uria-Monzon Carmen "La-bas dans la montagne"

Carmen essaye de convaincre Don Jose de devenir un deserteur, et d'aller avec elle, etre libre dans les montagnes. Il lui dit qu'il ne trahirat pas son drapeau "c'est une honte, une infamie!" Mais tout change quand Zuniga arrive et Don Jose defie son superieur. Le resultat est une bataille d'epee. Maintenant Jose n'a pas de choix - il doit aller avec les bandits.

Carmen tells Don Jose that he doesn't really love her unless he comes with her to the mountains to be a bandit and live "free". He tells her that he cannot be a traitor to his flag, and bear the shame & infamy of desertion. And he prepares to leave, each yelling "Good-bye forever!" But all changes when Zuniga arrives and Jose defies his superior when he tells him to leave. The result is a swordfight. Carmen & the Gypsy/Bandits intervene, but Jose realizes that now he has no choice - he must go with the bandits.
