Fiona McNaught & Damian Bienkowski travelled all the way from New Zealand to be married at the Mansfield Traquair in a vibrant winter wedding on Sunday December 29th 2013.

Fiona arrived in a vintage Volkswagon campervan and made a spectacular entrance into the vast interior of the former Catholic Church. He cousin Colin piped her and her dad down toward the aisle, making their way through the imposing mural arch decorations.

The emphasis of the ceremony was very much about the bringing together of two families. Celebrant Natasha Hood very much brought everyone in and included the family in their vows where they made commitment. Among other things, they promised to eat, dance and be merry with them that night, and indeed they did so with gusto - aided by ceilidh band Sporran Again!

Fiona and Damian's mums lighted a family candle each to represented the life and the love they have given to the son or the daughter that have come together in marriage.

Damian's sister Victoria read Song of Hiawatha, while Emma read a lovely self-penned poem. The musical offerings included 'I'm a believer' and 'stand by me' both of which with everyone getting involved.

As ever the events team at the Mansfield did a five-star job of making the setting spectacular, and everyone from the service staff to the AV tech were friendly and helpful.

Their first dance was set to Robbi Robb 'In Time' from the serious awesome 'Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure'. How cool?
