Oregon Timber Frame 2023

I (and Molly for most of it) spent the past couple weeks in Oregon where I was helping Tom Bonamici on a timber frame he’d been commissioned to build.

Truly, one of my absolute greatest pleasures in life is helping friends with their projects and I’m grateful I’m able to do it as often as I do. This one was especially enjoyable because Tom’s so lovely, the project was fun, and the location couldn’t be beat. (We also got to spend quality time with other dear Oregonian friends as well, so that was a huge plus.)

The frame is mostly 8x8 timbers, all Port Orford Cedar. We reduced the knee braces at Creative Woodworking in Portland. Good people. If you need a timber frame hit up Tom Bonamici @ www.handybag.org
