Game #35. Part 2. How To Create a Typing Speed Test Game On Scratch | Scratch 3.0 Coding Tutorial

This is a full tutorial on how to make an easy game in Scratch 3.0.

This is a speed typing test (game) where there are cars (trucks) appearing on the left edge of the screen showing a word that the player needs to type in quickly. The player should type as quickly as possible as the trucks will show up faster and faster.
In the end the game will display few stats, such as typing speed, number of correct words typed, number of wrong words.

In this game you'll learn how to:
- extract words from any text. Use lists to do this.
- show the trucks in their order as in a 3D game (closer trucks are shown on top of the farther trucks). Use lists and a sorting algorithm to do this
- create a cool start of the game
- show stats at the end of the game using a very creative idea (Scratch doesn't have a way to show text on the screen)
- broadcasting
- variables

But the most important thing you'll learn is how to think of the game-play, choose the best ideas and decide on the algorithms to implement. Once you learn these, you can apply them to any future game you will create.
