Pandemic EBT (P-EBT) for the 2020-2021 school year is coming!

Pandemic EBT, or P-EBT, provides families with funds to help purchase food if they have children eligible for free or reduced-price school meals and attend a school participating in the National School Lunch Program.
This benefit returns this school year and is being distributed because students missed essential meals while schools were remote or hybrid due to COVID-19.

Families can receive up to $136.40 per school month for remote learners and up to $81.84 per school month for hybrid learners to supplement their food budget. Immigration status does not matter for P-EBT and P-EBT is not part of public charge.

There is no separate application for P-EBT for the 2020-2021 school year. However, families must be eligible for free or reduced-price school meals to be eligible for P-EBT. Families should fill out a school meal application before the end of the school year at their school office or through their school website. Benefits will begin issuing in late May and will be issued retroactively for the 2020-2021 school year in lump sum payments. Eligible families that do not participate in SNAP will receive a new P-EBT card per eligible student to their household. Eligible families participating in SNAP will automatically receive benefits on their current EBT card.
