Unexpected ways to turn anything into a carrying bag

Carrying things can be a struggle especially at an age where we try to minimize the use of plastic bags and bring our own reusable bags. It is not always easy to find a bag at hand which you can use when you are and about, however, in this video we found so many ways on how to create your own bag and different DIY bag designs that you'll love.

1. How to turn your jeans into a carrier bag:
Do you have an old pair of jeans lying around and you still don't want to get rid of it even though it doesn't fit you anymore? Then, try this trick. Cut off the jean's legs and then using one of the legs cut two thin stripes which we are going to be using as handles. Then, sew the bottom of the jean together so that it creates a nice round pocket. Take the stripes and attach them to each side of the jean (one at the front and one at the bottom). There you have it, your very own DIY jean bag.

2. How to turn a shirt into a bag:
This can be a very interesting, fashionable choice, so, if you have a shirt that you are not using laying around, give this one a try. Take a shirt, turn it inside-out and cut it from the point before the sleeves start ( make sure you cut a half an inch square on each side because we'll need it later ). Then, sew the top you just cut together horizontally. Now take the little squares you cut and sew them horizontally as well. After that, take two pieces of strong fabric and sew them on the shirt as carrier handles on each side. Finally, turn the bag you just created inside-out and see the little fashion masterpiece you just created with minimum effort.

4. How to make a durable bag for shopping:
Here is the deal, we go shopping, and we buy those cheap plastic bags which break the moment you add something heavy in them. If you've been through that, you know the struggle. Here is what you can do to prevent it in the future and not waste any more money or plastic. Take all the inexpensive/cheap plastic bags you have and cut them all in squares. Make sure they are straight and layer them on top of each other. (Add 3-4 layers). Add at the bottom a piece of baking paper and one at the top. Heat your clothing iron and run it through the plastic bags. Make two of these pieces and then, cut the baking sheet in half, fold it and do the same on the sides and the bottom of the bag to make sure that it seals perfectly. You can then sew the carrier handles on top and voila!

5. How to re-purpose an old bag:
If one of your bags got to dirty and is way out of fashion but you still want to use it. How about giving it a make-over? Here is what you can do: Take an old sweater that you have lying around, place your bag inside it and then cut it as if you are tracing the shape of your bag. Then, saw the sweater you just cut back together, and fold the top of it on the sides of the bag. Finally get a long carrier handle and attach it on each side of the bag you are using and there you have it. A fashionable, winter DIY bag that will make everyone think it's from a luxury brand.

6. How to turn your pillowcase into a bag:
If you have old pillowcases laying around, why not use them when you go shopping? Here is what you can do. Take your pillowcase and cut two large round pieces from both the right and left side. ( so that what you are left with is a large T shaped Letter). Then, saw the small part that you are left with at the top of the pillowcase you just cut and there you have it - that would be your carrier handle. Now you can take your bag with you for grocery shopping, apple picking, flower shopping etc.
