Usher Raymond Talks Playing Sugar Ray Leonard In ‘Hands Of Stone’ | TODAY

Grammy-winning musician Usher Raymond turns to dramatic acting in the new movie “Hands of Stone,” a biodrama about boxing legend Robert Duran in which Raymond plays Duran’s rival Sugar Ray Leonard. He tells Matt Lauer that he met Leonard to prepare for the role, and says one reason he was chosen for the part was because his skill in choreographed movement is similar to Leonard’s. “I didn’t prepare like it was an acting role,” he says. “I prepared like a boxer.”
