CALIFORNIA TRAVEL DAY & DAY 1 VLOG | Walt Disney Studios, Hollywood Sign & Exploring Los Angeles

Hey! we're embarking on an exciting travel day adventure from Heathrow Airport (LHR) to Los Angeles (LAX). Join us, Gaz, Anj, and Ollie (the Kershaw family) as we take you on a journey of a lifetime in California.

First, we're departing from Heathrow Airport, a change from our usual Manchester departure. Our destination: Los Angeles! Over the next few weeks, you'll witness our immersive experiences, starting with our transport into the world of Super Nintendo at Universal Studios Hollywood. We'll also explore the delightful world of Boysenberry at Knotts Berry Farm, indulging in Boysenberry Pie, Punch, Bag, and Honey. And of course, we can't miss the enchantment of Disneyland California, where we'll experience our favorite theme park ever!

Our travel day began at the Hilton Garden Inn at Heathrow Terminal 2 and 3. Despite a minor hiccup with the room, we ended up with a free upgrade to a Junior Suite with a view of Virgin First Class's entrance area and the runway. We made our way through security, which was a breeze, and enjoyed a delicious meal at The Curator before boarding our Virgin Atlantic flight in the Premium cabin.

The flight onboard the Airbus A350-1000 was comfortable, We savored in-flight meals like Shepherd's Pie and enjoyed the famous Virgin Atlantic afternoon tea before landing.

Upon arrival in Los Angeles, we encountered a slight mix-up with the rental car location, but we finally made it to Avis and picked up our Mitsubishi Outlander. The LA traffic welcomed us with open arms, but with the help of Google, we navigated our way to the Hilton Hotel at Universal City, our first accommodation for the trip. We even managed to catch a glimpse of the iconic Hollywood Sign and explore Lake Hollywood Park.

We couldn't resist indulging in an iconic In-N-Out Burger experience, savoring their delicious double doubles and fries. We also had a fun encounter with the Walt Disney Studios, where we were lucky enough to take a picture in front of the main building after a cheeky request to security.

To conclude our video, we shared our room reveal at the Universal City Hilton, where we were pleasantly surprised to find a view that included Hogwarts Castle, the Universal Studios entrance, and a minion. Despite the unexpected rain in LA, we were thrilled with our room and ready to explore the wonders of Universal Studios and all the adventures that await us.
