2024 Triumph Scrambler 1200 X & XE Update Overview
Triumph Motorcycles have just revealed an updated Scrambler 1200 XE for 2024, with a brake upgrade, suspension change and some more minor tweaks to improve the popular big-bore scrambler.
In comparison the Scrambler 1200 X replaced the previous XC variant but actually simplifies things down a bit, with much more basic suspension and brakes, a more fleshed out electronics loadout, and lower seat height.
Pricing on the XE is slightly down on the previous offering, but with the loss of Ohlins rear shocks, there's little doubt the bike's taken a hit on the bling factor, even with Stylema calipers now fitted.
The Scrambler 1200 X runs the much more basic Marzocchi suspenders front and rear and drops travel to 170 mm, and seat height to 820 mm, but pricing really hasn't dropped much compared to the outgoing XC, considering almost all suspension adjustment is now gone.
Australian pricing land at $24,900 rideaway for the Scrambler 1200 XE, but the Scrambler 1200 X is still $22,600 rideaway, which seems a small reduction for the loss of fully adjustable Ohlins shocks, fully adjustable Showa forks and Brembo brakes. It feels like if those upgrades were going in the other direction the premium would be significantly larger. A small condolence is the IMU and cornering ABS/TC.
