The Yardbirds - A Tribute Performance by The RaveUps in 2006

About the RaveUps: Unlike most tribute bands that attempt to "look like" the band they mimic, the RaveUps didn't bother with that...we couldn't. Instead, we dissected the records for six months and attempted to duplicate the parts and sound. This required buying the same gear and a lot of practice. We made dozens of recordings in our rehearsal room and repeatedly compared them to the records. The Yardbirds were finished by 1968, and we wanted to recreate what it might have been like to hear them live. We added the 60s' light show and go-go-dancers for some vibe. I stayed in the band for the first year, then parted feeling I had accomplished what I set out to do. The RaveUps continued with other drummers for another ten years.
