Carrick mat- rope hot pad

In this video I demonstrate one of the simplest rope mats you can make, the Carrick mat. Even though it is a simple mat, it is a great looking one for sure!

The mat is made by tying a Carrick bend and making a mat out of it. Alternatively a 3L4B turk's head can be tied and flattened out into a mat.

The mat can be used as a hot pad under hot dishes on the table or as a coaster.
