Shanghai's coffee festival brews big on the Bund with 350 brands and global flavors

Shanghai Coffee Festival, the city's largest coffee lifestyle celebrations, runs from April 30 to May 4, overlapping with the five-day Labor Day holiday. The main market stretches 2.3 km along the North Bund waterfront, with 350 booths and nearly 100 top global coffee brands.

One highlight is a virtual cafe linking Shanghai and Italy’s Caffè Carraro, where visitors can chat live with Italian coffee lovers.

This year’s festival brings together all 16 districts and Lingang New Area in the city’s largest coffee event yet.

China’s coffee industry hit 313.3 billion yuan（47 billIon USD） last year, up 18.1%, with people now drinking an average of 22 cups a year. Shanghai leads the trend with 9,115 coffee shops and over 32 million coffee delivery orders in 2023.
