The word ‘rigid’ is an adjective that means firm or unmoveable, something that is fixed in place and cannot be removed or taken away might be described as rigid. To be unable to bend or be forced out of shape is to be rigid. A certain thing, such as a rule or a part of law that cannot be changed or adapted, will often be described as rigid.
