Neodymium Magnet vs. UVC Germicidal Tube (Death Ray Lamp)

Recently I've noticed that strong neodymium magnet affect fluorescent tubes (it makes them brighter). I was wondering what is happening inside of the tube, so I tried it with a UVC Germicidal tube. It's just like a fluorescent tube, but without the phosphor, just with a clear glass. It turns out that the magnet distorts the discharge / arc. The arc gets longer and thus brighter and it also gets closer to the phosphor, which also makes the tube brighter.

Warning: Don't try to do this! Mains voltage is dangerous. Big neodymium magnets are also dangerous. Fluorescent tubes and UVC tubes contain hazardous substances. Germicidal tubes emit UVC light, which is very harmful to everything alive. It can seriously damage your skin or vision!
