‘Out-and-out liar’: PM's broken promise on tax cuts has ‘not cost him’ in the polls

Sky News host Liz Storer says although Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is an “out-and-out liar” for breaking his promise on stage three tax cuts, the decision has “not cost him” in the polls.

“The changes to the tax cuts have proved popular, we knew this though the Essential poll last week, now through Newspoll today,” Ms Storer told Sky News host Danica De Giorgio.

“That’s not magic, that’s not science – naturally people like keeping a bit more of their own money – no matter how paltry the sum.

“So that’s not translating to Albanese-Robin Hood.

"The two-party preferred hasn’t budged since December, but what it also tells you is they’re not necessarily punishing him for being an out-and-out liar.

“So it hasn’t budged, it’s not won him the popularity they were hoping for, but it’s not cost him.”
