Hong Kong High Rise Fire: Massive fire kills 14 in Hong Kong, rescued rush to temporary shelters

A catastrophic fire has engulfed multiple high rise towers of a residential complex in Hong Kong’s Northern Tai Po district. The intense fire has reportedly claimed 14 lives causing panic in the area with many still feared to be trapped inside. In a latest video shared by Reuters, Rescued residents were seen rushing to temporary shelters as authorities struggled to bring the blaze under control. The fire started at the Wang Fuk Court housing complex on November 26, the complex reportedly constitutes of 2,000 residential apartments. Firefighters battled the blaze till night as thick black smoke billowed from the 31-storey towers and orange flames lit up the sky. The Fire Department has still not figured the number of people who may still be trapped inside the blazed buildings. The fire department said it received reports at 2:51 p.m. (0651 GMT) of the tragic accident in Wang Fuk Court. Hong-Kong’s Transport Department has closed an entire section of the Tai Po road due to fire with buses diverted.
