The Melton Mowbray & D M E S The track extension story

This story in photo/video form, shows just how much hard work a handful of members have done to improve our clubs track site.
With the help from the Evergreens M.R, They lent us a rail bending machine that really helped speed up the building of the track.
Dave Oliver built all the track on the extension with it and i'm sure it helped in some of the points as well.
Sadly Dave passed away, so this video is dedicated to him, he is missed by all the members of the Society. Thankfully Dave did get to drive on the completed layout.
We finished off the story with an official opening on 30th of April 2023, with diamond crossing now bearing the name of Dave.
As many model engineers know their is always more work to do on a miniature railway to keep us busy.
