We recently had a young female patient who had braces in the past, but was not happy with the overall appearance of her teeth. To improve her smile, we used a combination of gum contouring and porcelain veneers. The results were drastic. The smile makeover process took less than three weeks!

Some people have been bothered by a “gummy smile” all their lives and had heard about the procedure "gum lift" we are doing in our Cleveland office. It appealed to them because it takes very little time and does not involve “surgery” and a long healing time.

After taking the appropriate measurements and applying a topical anesthetic, we will use a diode laser to remove this excess tissue so that the tooth or teeth now take on a more natural appearance.

A radio wave can also be used in cases that are a little more severe. Following treatment, which takes about fifteen minutes, post-treatment instructions are given, using involving salt-water rinses and Advil/Motrin if needed.

Porcelain veneers are thin porcelain shells, like false fingernails, that are permanently adhered to the outsides of teeth. They are carefully shaped, both to fit your real teeth perfectly, and to give you a perfect smile. Veneers can make teeth longer and more even. Porcelain veneers will last anywhere from 10 to 25 years to a lifetime, depending on the individual and maintenance factors. Veneers can be combined with other cosmetic treatments, such as in this case, to create a completely new smile.
