DECLASSIFIED: the wrong turn that started a world war #shorts #history #ww1

DECLASSIFIED: what if Archduke Franz Ferdinand survived Sarajevo? On June 28, 1914, his driver took a wrong turn and stopped the car directly in front of Gavrilo Princip, who fired the shots that triggered World War I. Imagine the car never stalled and Princip never got his chance.

Without the trenches there is no collapse of Russia in 1917, no rise of the men who fed on the wreckage, and perhaps no Second World War at all. By today, the 20th century's tens of millions of dead might have lived — or the explosion might simply have waited for the next match.
