Crankshaft Warpage On FS 45/ 55/ and 55R Stihl Trimmers

Although warpage is rare it can happen due to a sudden stop of the engine at high rpms . This warpage typically is a result of the trimmers heads being subjected to electric fencing wire {becoming entangled} or even over grown vegetation that's bogging or choking the trimmer causing it to drastically change from high rpms to very low in and instant. Sadly although very rare it can be a very expensive fix and often dealers choose not to involve there selves for such a expensive repair for a customer. And the few that do use used crankshafts to combat cost as purchasing a new crankshaft with bearings ,seals, gaskets , and Dirko can be to expensive to rationalize cost for a customer . Having old trimmers to cannibalize seems to be the most reasonable way to deal with this issue . That's why I keep a few old trimmers just lying around for such a emergency repair.
