Vaughan Williams : The Sprig of Thyme and the Lark in the Morning. Sir George Clausen : Paintings.

"The Sprig of Thyme and the Lark in the Morning" is the third movement of the orchestral arrangement of Vaughan Williams' "Folk Songs of the Four Seasons". Originally written as an extended choral work for the National Federation of Women's Institutes, it was crafted into an orchestral suite in 1952 by Roy Douglas, who contributed so much to Vaughan Williams' later music by creating decent copies of his shockingly chaotic manuscript scores.
It is played here by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, conducted by Martin Yates.
The paintings are by the English artist Sir George Clausen.
