Avatoms [What is the sound of an atom? work-in-progress]

Avatoms stands for Audio Visual Atoms. It is an environment that lets the user hear the sound of an atom. This sound is created by the electrons in an atom that absorb or emit a photon particle. These absorptions and emissions correspond with a certain level of energy in the electromagnetic spectrum. The light-waves corresponding with the energy-levels are frequencies. If you drop those frequencies +/- 40 octaves you get audible frequencies.

The visuals are made with processing.org and the audio is generated in Max/MSP.
