Shortly after coming back from its Keen Project Safari Transformation, Matt's Porsche 911 decided to start blowing smoke from the tail pipe, indicating it was nearing time for the dreaded, 100,000-mile Top End Rebuild inherent to all air-cooled 911's. Marco Gerace, owner of TLG Auto in North Hollywood, CA, an air-cooled specialist, tore down the engine and discussed what our course of action would be in Part 1, here:

Now, in Part 2, Marco has cleaned and reassembled the long block using a combination of still good (Pistons, Rods) and new (valves, head studs, cam gears) parts, and used money saved to rebuild the bottom end as well, for even greater durability.
