#eb2 or #eb3 process with pending U.S. asylum petition

You can do the EB-2 or EB-3 employment based immigration process if you have a pending asylum petition, but a pending asylum petition does not give you lawful status that makes you eligible to adjust status in the United States. You will have to go to a consulate abroad which may mean abandoning your asylum petition.
