Tipping Farrier $500 For Rescuing Pony

For the last year we have been rescuing Charlie an adorable pony. She had almost 12 inch overgrown hooves. I tried trimming the hooves myself but with little experience and inadequate tools I realized I was going to need professional help (https://youtu.be/bnpXYuzJ4Gk). To rescue this pony was going to take a lot of money we didn't have. From paying for continual trimmings to getting x-rays we knew we couldn't do this on our own. We started a gofundme campaign and were shocked to see the support. We quickly were able to raise more than enough money to rescue Charlie.

We contacted the best farrier in our area and he has been amazing. He has gone above and beyond in so many ways in rescuing Charlie. He was trained by his father over 30 years ago and has continued to shoe and trim horses in our area on the side. In his fathers footsteps he has trained boys and girls to continue the art of caring for horses. One of the coolest parts was he gave one of the trimmings totally for free as his contribution to Charlies rescue. We decided that he has done so much for this pony that we wanted to tip him $500. The next time he had available in his busy schedule fell on Christmas Eve. What a perfect time to receive a $500 tip. The best part was what he did with the money. He is such a great guy.
