From VAN to TINYHOME | OFF GRID Solar Panels + DIY Rack ፧ Sprinter Van Build

Hola Amigees!

This week with the sprinter build we've put together an inexpensive solar panel rack system with Unistrut, Bolts, and Washers. This is very similar to how to built our solar rack for the skoolie in 2018. We can't justify spending $300 for the OEM rail system, only to then be stuck buying things needed to mount our panels to the rail system from there.

We designed this in a way that we have maximum efficiency, stealth abilities (can't see them from the ground), and it was cost effective as well. The system is entirely modular and someone who was more of a utility roof rack system could modify this one easily to fit mounts and holders for different types of tools and other things.

We'll have an entirely different video in the future going through the details of our solar system, with all of the details, but as a rough idea for everyone, we have 4 150W mono-crystalline panels in parallel feeding to a 60Amp Renogy MPPT charge controller, a 3000W Victron Inverter Charger and 4 138AH LiFePo4 batteries (Totaling 552AH of usable power). Trust me, we'll break that and the cost down for everyone soon.
