3D Scanning the World's Most Complete Torvosaurs Skeleton at Cincinnati Museum Center

Cincinnati Museum Center's paleontologists recently teamed up with partners at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History and Utah Geological Survey to disassemble, scan, and reassemble our Torvosaurus skeleton.

Torvosaurus was one of the largest predatory dinosaurs of the Jurassic, but Torvosaurus fossils are very rare. The Torvosaurus in CMC's Museum of Natural History & Science is both the most complete and the only mounted specimen of this species in the world. This makes it incredibly valuable to research. To facilitate research of this amazing dinosaur, our team of experts scanned each bone to create a digital 3D model.

Check out what it took to scan the Torvosaurus here, and visit Cincinnati Museum Center to see this rare dinosaur for yourself! Get tickets: https://www.cincymuseum.org/
