The award-winning book “Taiwan Travelogue: A Novel” by Taiwanese author Yang Shuang-zi depicts the journey of two women, one Japanese and one Taiwanese, as they travel by train through colonial Taiwan.

On this episode of Zoom In Zoom Out, TaiwanPlus reporter Jeremy Olivier sits down with the novel’s English translator and award-winner, Lin King, to discuss what made this novel the winner of the prestigious National Book Award for Translated Literature in 2024.
