Cold Case: The Village Rapist. An extended report by ITV News

In November 1980, a 71-year-old spinster Violet Brown was raped in her home in a quiet Wiltshire village.
Despite a large-scale inquiry police were unable to prove that their prime suspect, a Salisbury thief called Kenny Wells, was Violet's attacker.
After rebuilding the case using new forensic techniques and advances in DNA science, police arrested Wells in June 2021.
Wells admitted Violet's rape along with two other counts and was sentenced to 15 years in prison.
In this extended report, featuring footage of Wells' arrest and interview, investigators and the lead detective for Wiltshire Police describe how they were able to bring justice in a case using science which wasn't available at the time it happened.
