This week we're traveling to Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam
We land in Ho Chi Minh City at 5:40 a.m., just as the city wakes up. After dropping our bags, we ease into the day with our first café stop at Café Slow.
Once our appetites catch up, we head to Phở Hòa Pasteur for brunch. From there, we continue café hopping at Sipply Coffee Roastery before starting our walk through the city’s historic heart. The pink façade of Tân Định Catholic Church is impossible to miss, and it sets the tone for a day of wandering. We stop by Book Street to pick up postcards, then write and send them from the Saigon Central Post Office—a small ritual that feels especially satisfying when traveling. We round out the sightseeing with a visit to Notre Dame Cathedral before diving into local fashion and design at OHQUAO The Local Edit, SEESON IRL Flagship, and Rue Miche Boutique. By evening, we’re ready for something comforting and familiar, so we head to Pizza 4P’s on Hai Bà Trưng for dinner and call it a night.
Our second day starts with what many consider a Saigon essential: bánh mì from Bánh Mì Huynh Hoa. From there, we lean into the city’s café scene again, stopping by Eggyolk Coffee and Soo Kafe near Bến Thành. The rest of the day unfolds as a long, happy loop of shopping and discovery—CHAUTFIFTH, Nosbyn, and a quick stop at MonoBooth for photobooth memories. By dinner, we end the day at Bếp Cuốn Sài Gòn.
Day three is all about getting out of the city. We book a full-day tour to the Cu Chi Tunnels and the Mekong Delta, an eye-opening experience that balances history, nature and perspective. Back in Ho Chi Minh City that evening, we keep dinner simple and comforting at Bếp Mẹ Ỉn on Lê Thánh Tôn, letting home-style flavors ease us back into city life.
After a full tour day, day four starts slow with brunch at Running Bean. Refueled, we spend the day browsing thoughtfully curated shops—Jellycat, AAA Jewelry, Nagashoes, Aufra, Dob, Gout De Jun, and Copper Denim—each offering a different slice of Saigon’s creative scene. In the afternoon, we treat ourselves to a little reset at Lisa Nail & Spa with a nail session, head spa and foot scrub. It’s indulgent in the best way. For dinner, we head to Mặn Mòi near Tao Đàn, where bold flavors and a lively atmosphere bring the day to a perfect close.
On our final day, we savor a relaxed brunch at Little Hanoi Egg Coffee on Ky Con, lingering a bit longer over our drinks. Afterwards, we do our last stretch of shopping. Before wrapping up the trip, we stop by a hair spa.
