Behavioral economics helps us in trying to understand why we might spend more money when using credit cards versus using cold, hard cash. When it comes to transactions, we can look at two phenomena: the pain of paying for things, and the pleasure of getting things. How these two aspects relate to each other can help us understand some of the decisions we make about money.
